General Description of Archive

Readings and lectures recorded during the Poem Present Reading and Lecture Series are archived here. The Media Archive page lists several recent events, but the Master List 2004-2009 is a full list of recordings. Each poet invited does a reading and a lecture (often on different days). Many of the readings have both audio and video available.

UPDATE (Chelsea Obodoechina): Archive has been relocated to https://poetics.uchicago.edu/latest-videos

Description of archive history or URL

The archive is under the Media Archive Link, Master archive 2004-2009. The series began in 2001, called the Poem Present Reading and Lecture series, bringing contemporary poets to the U of Chicago to read their poetry as well as a lecture on poetics. The events began to be recorded and uploaded online in 2003 by the Chicago Media Initiatives Group, for archiving online as well as at the University Library.
