Digital Toolbox

The SpokenWeb Digital Toolbox is a database compiled by SpokenWeb researchers in order to describe old and new tools relevant to the use of digital audio for research and presentation purposes. For example, tools pertaining to annotation, editing, visualization, transcription, transcoding, online presentation and other functions relevant to SpokenWeb digital projects are described. The list is meant to be useful, but by no means exhaustive. Original contributors to the project were: Jared Wiercinski and Annie Murray.

SpeakerText is a fee-based service that provides transcripts of video or audio recordings. You point the company to your files or URLs and they provide the transcripts as text or XML files. The CaptionBox product (fee-based) provides interactive transcripts for the video content on your website. Users can quote a specific portion of a video thanks to the interactive transcript. A WordPress plugin is available.

It uses the Annotation Graph format as native format but can read a number of other annotation formats.
